You Stay

Our writer this week is Lame Teboyame Moganetsi. She has a Bachelor of Social Work and  from the year 2009-2013 she volunteered with Face The Nation Botswana as a peer mentor and counselor; and is passionate about mentoring pre-teens and teens, which she still does with gladness. She taught and mentors the senior Sunday school class of Assemblies of GOD Tlokweng, which comprises of pre-teens and teens since 2011 till August 2015. She relocated and currently serves at Spirit-Filled Church in the same capacity. A wife to Alebakwe Moganetsi, she recently left her job in August 2015 as a tutor of Dyslexic children at Right To Learn Edu-Psych clinic to focus on establishing her family and dreams. She believes building a strong nation starts by first building strong families and youth. Writing and reciting poetry are the voice GOD has given her to express HIS mind and to speak order into our societies, to encourage the broken hearted and mostly to point people to Christ. For her poetry is not a performance but a ministry and chance to heal hearts and speak for Christ. Enjoy!

The poem titled ‘You Stay’ was written at a time in my life when I felt like I was drifting from GOD yet I could experience HIS love and care for me more than before. I could see details of HIM pursuing me even when I wasn’t pursuing HIM. I didn’t seem to be making any effort to seek HIS  face. But when I was overwhelmed with shame, I kept on sensing HIS love in my life.

It is also based on my personal favourite scripture in Hebrews which says “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Throughout my faith life,I have seen HIM stay and HIS faithfulness to that word even when I was ashamed to draw near to HIM. The scripture has always been and still is an assurance to me that GOD is faithful to stay and help me remain in HIM.

I hope and desire that the reader of this piece, also gets to see GOD’S faithfulness in their life. That no matter how far they stray HE will always be present in their life and mostly HE will guide them back to HIMSELF.  I hope it helps someone who feels unworthy of GOD’S love experience this undying and unconditional love personally.

I call

You come

I run

Not to You

but away

You wait

 ~

I call again

You come

I run

Not to You

Away

you wait

Calm

 ~

I call

You come

I run

Not to You

To others

~

I cry

I call

You come

Again

I hide

Still You come

You never tire

You wait

~

I cry

I cry the more

I want to call

But I can’t

I fear

You hear

and You come

Calm

~

You’re so calm

You stay

You Never really left

You promised

And You kept it

I am Yours

You are mine…and You will never leave… Revelation 3:13

With Love, LM
